COFFEES OF COORG
Friends of Riverside
July'25 - Aug’25
Friends of Riverside was created to spotlight Coorg’s coffee planters, many of whom had cultivated for generations yet remained unseen. The initiative, Coffees of Coorg by Riverside, brings together diverse estates, each with its own terroir, process, and story. Riverside, a brand rooted in community and collaboration, created this platform to celebrate Coorg’s coffee culture. The packaging system was designed to reflect the individuality of each estate while keeping the collection cohesive.
PACKAGING

Each bag balances technical details with human narratives. Processing styles, varieties, and tasting notes sit alongside glimpses of life on the estates - from ancestral homes and forest springs to wildlife corridors and family traditions. The design structure gives every estate a distinct identity, yet still connects them as part of one larger series.

-
Built to be flexible and story-led. The structure allows for easy variation between estates, while consistent typography and layout unify the range. Each bag becomes both a product and a collectible, encouraging exploration of Coorg through its coffees.
-
The packaging transforms each bag into a window into Coorg. Customers discover not just coffee but people, heritage, and land. By combining storytelling with clarity, Friends of Riverside now offers a product that feels as meaningful on the shelf as it does in the cup.

The packaging artwork is created to express what makes each coffee unique to its estate. Layers of imagery are drawn from the surrounding landscape, the way the coffee is grown, and the character of the land itself. Elements like vegetation, wildlife, or the rhythm of the terrain influence both the design and the story it tells. No two estates are the same, and neither are the artworks. Together, the series highlights individuality while holding a clear visual connection, making every bag feel both authentic and collectible.
